Does taking non-caffeine Coffee gives you the same result of the regular coffee? The regular coffee gives good energy and keeps u awake because of the caffeine so i wonder if the non-caffeine Coffee gives the same result i mean keeps u awake and good energy for sports? And what's the different between them? Thank u Miz lamb :) Thank u Doz that really helps :) Thanx longlive for passing by =) thanx coockie :D nice pic by the way ;)

Miz Lamb replied: "You answered it yourself! It is the caffeine that does the keeping awake and energizing! Decaf is just another hot drink! But it will run through you just like regular caffeine coffee does and like tea and beer!"

jnliy24 replied: "According to a University of Florida study, there is NO such thing as caffeine-free or non-caffeine coffee. ALL coffee has some caffeine. You can never truly rid coffee of caffeine. There is a difference between caffeine and caffeine-free. In a typical 8-ounce cup of coffee, there is about 85 milligrams of caffeine. In a typical 8-ounce cup of caffeine-free coffee, there is about 8.6-13.9 milligrams of caffeine."

Doz replied: "I don't call coffee's "energy", "good". Decaf coffee actually does have caffeine in it, just much less, so it will give you a little of the same feeling. How about ginseng? I find it gives a better "high" than coffee, without the low that coffee has. Anyway, being drug-free is your best bet."

longlivekrista replied: "You may get a placebo effect. But, no, you won't get the same results."

Me Want Cookie! replied: "lol no, the point of decaf is coffee flavor without caffeine"

Does tea or coffee have more caffeine? Which has more caffeine, coffee or tea?

LadyLinda replied: "Coffee"

phantomj22 replied: "Coffee"

Allison F replied: "COFFEE it makes you hyper and thats why people drink it in the morning"

lavachk1 replied: "Coffee has more caffeine than black tea Black tea has more than green tea White tea has none"

Orion777 replied: "Coffee has more caffeine than tea. Coffee 150 ml (5 oz) 60-150 mg. of caffeine Coffee, decaf 150 ml (5 oz) 2-5 mg. of caffeine Tea 150 ml (5 oz) 40-80 mg. of caffeine Tea: Caffeine content is also affected by the length of the infusion in water. Black tea infused for 5 minutes yields 40-100 milligrams, whereas a 3-minute infusion produces 20-40 milligrams, or half as much. Twenty cups of green tea yield 240 milligrams, or about 12 milligrams per cup. In massive doses, caffeine is lethal. A fatal dose of caffeine has been calculated to be more than 10 grams (about 170 mg/kg body weight) - this is the same as drinking 80 to 100 cups of coffee in rapid succession - not an easy thing to do. Caffeine enters the bloodstream through the stomach and small intestine and can have its effects as soon as 15 minutes after it is consumed. Once in the body, caffeine will stay around for hours: it takes about 6 hours for one half of the caffeine to be eliminated."

jham693 replied: "Yes."

Grace F. replied: "Coffee normaly, but there are a few kinds of teas with more caffeine."

How exactly does coffee/caffeine hinder fertility? I keep reading that I need to stop drinking caffeine to get pregnant. Why? What does caffeine do to prevent conception SPECIFICALLY? I drink about 2 cups a day. Have any of you gals out there gotten pregnant and DIDN'T stop your daily jolt? I got pregnant 3 years ago, and had quit coffee before conception, but started drinking coffee once I was about 2 months pregnant.

Mrs. W replied: "When trying to conceive, Caffeine has been known to thicken the uterine lining making it difficult for the fertilized egg to implant. While this study has never been proven, its always best to avoid caffeine during TTC and pregnancy."

Shelly replied: "Your caffeine intake is low enough that it should not negatively impact conception. Experts generally agree that low to moderate caffeine consumption, less than 300 mg a day or about the equivalent of three cups of coffee, won't affect your fertility, but your doctor may recommend that you cut caffeine out entirely to play it safe. Once you do conceive you should eliminate caffeine from your diet. I drank coffee like water until I found out I was prego...then it was on to decaf....."

allimc4 replied: "That's a big fat MYTH! A few servings of caffeine daily does not interfere at with either conception OR pregnancy!"

Lola replied: "Caffeine doesn't have a direct affect on your fertility, but it is bad for pregnancy. Caffeine hinders brain function in anyone under the age of 20. Studies have shown that caffeine intake by children and teenagers shows slower brain function and exhaustion. A teenager can overdose on 250mg of caffeine. What kind of affect do you think it will have on a developing embryo?"

How long does the caffeine from coffee "last"? On average how long does the caffeine from a cup of coffee "last"? I know everyone is different but what's the norm?? This will help settle a debate between me and the Mr...... Thanks

tigerbaby76 replied: "The effects don't last as long as the caffeine actually staying in your system. Caffeine stays in your blood stream for 72 hours, which is why people should never give it to their kids!!! And the effects of caffeine take between 30-45 minutes to kick in. But how long the actual effect lasts is different for each person, it's similar to the tolerance effect with people who consume alcohol....it mostly depends on your tolerance for caffeine. Enjoy! :)"

Alexis replied: "more than a couple hours, i am sure. if i want to go to sleep at 10, then i cant drink coffee after 2 or 3."

Karlee replied: "7-8 hrs. Half life is 3-4 hours... and is fully absorbed within 45 min of drinking it. Being pregnant or on birth control pills can make it last longer. Isn't it ironic how we don't want our kids to drink caffeine, yet Ritalin is so heavily prescribed and an even stronger stimulant..."

Andrew O. replied: "2-3 hours for a single cup."

How does caffeine, the coffee flavor and aroma get transferred to hot coffee? Since water is a polar liquid and the soluble fractions of coffee grounds are non polar... how is the caffeine, flavor and aroma transferred to hot coffee? In chemical terms..

Gabry Hyrule replied: "Solubility is relative. Saying that something is soluble in something is just saying that LARGE amount of it will get in the solution. Obviously, even if you put a 20-carbon alkane into water, you WILL have some molecules of the hydrocarbon here and there in the water. When you look at caffeine, sure it's not too polar, but it can do lots of H-bonds. Even if it doesn't help that much, caffeine will be solvated to some extent by the water. The quantity of caffeine you actually WANT to drink is lower than what you could put in solution. In tea, it's about 1g/100mL water, and that's enough for a normal beverage. Caffeine is a poisonous alkaloid after all. Obviously, caffeine is sovated more easily in hot water than in cold water, and that's probably why humans drink hot coffee, as opposed to cool coffee (new trends)."

Does Capuccino have same amount of caffeine as Coffee? I think Capussino tastes better but does it have the same amount of caffeine as Coffee to keep you awake?

andy replied: "it has more"

Data M replied: "What. Cappuccino is a kind of coffee, you dummy."

kle_sam replied: "Espresso contains less caffeine than brewed coffee due to its deep roast and quick brewing. You can drink three shots of Starbucks espresso and get about the same 195-milligram dose as a 12-ounce coffee. (Cappucino is espresso plus steamed milk)"

Ragazza del mondo replied: "I've heard it has less caffeine, but sure I know it kept me all night :( Or maybe because I ate after that and had some chocolate."

BLUEROSE replied: "i recently was taught bistro espresso , the man said espresso has LESS caffeine, if it is made correctly, it will not be bitter ,and less caffeine although , i have to say i do feel like it gives me more of a zip, i think it would have to be tested per cup to see, for sure? coffee is brewed , with different kinds of grounds, espresso is forced through a 1 or 2 serving pressed finely ground espresso roasted bean"

zafir replied: "Cappuccino is coffee! It's made with a measure of espresso coffee and frothed milk. The caffeine content depends very much on the coffee roast and type of bean, but is generally between 60 and 100mg, about the same as a cup of brewed coffee."

annie b replied: "It depends where you get your cappuccino. Yes there is caffeine in cappuccino unless you get it from the gas station-that is typically water and sugar. There's not as much as there is in a small cup of espresso or a double shot, obviously."

GATORADE replied: "Capuccino is made with a shot (or two) of espresso, some frothed milk and foam. Espresso actually contains more caffeine per ml than coffee but coffee servings at most shops/restaurants do contain more caffeine because of their size."

How long does it take for coffee's caffeine effect to hit you? I'm trying to time when I should drink coffee so that I'm not sleepy on my way home from work. How long after you first drink coffee does it take for you to feel the effects of caffeine. My commute is about an hour.

El Numero Uno Cubano Bruno replied: "For most people, it starts to kick in between 5-10 minutes. Its very quickly absorbed into the bloodstream."

Dale L replied: "about 10-15 min to get going strong. You body needs to absorb the caffeine into your blood stream."

Scott S replied: "Most research I've read indicates 20-30 minutes, which agrees with my personal experience. Half-life is about 4 hours. People vary quite a bit in their sensitivity to caffeine. So if one is more sensitive, then the small amount of caffeine processed in a shorter time, e.g. 10-15 min, might be noticeable for them."

Does green tea have three times caffeine than coffee? My pregnant friend told me she can't drink green tea because it has THREE times the amount of caffeine as coffee does. (yet i saw her sit there and drink three glasses of coke) :) :) ANYWAYS.... is that true? I always thought green tea had less caffeine than one cup of coffee. thats what I thought, but the dr told her that green tea was worse.....doctors hey.. we should let tea makers run the world, they know more.

Edward replied: "Yes...actually it does. but some have lower caffeine than the other."

Francie replied: "Green tea generally has half the caffeine of coffee or cola."

PAULSC replied: "Green teas is approx. 20 milligrams, coffee is from 60 to 120 milligrams per cup. So, coffee generally has 3 to 6 times as much caffiene."

VeggieTart replied: "Green tea has far less caffeine than black tea, and that has considerably less caffeine than coffee. Green tea has three times the caffeine of decaf coffee, but not regular coffee."

zeph88 replied: "tea has 65mg of caffeine, regular black coffee has 90 mg of caffeine espresso at most would have 125-135 mg of caffeine caffeinated coke (soda) has 35-50 mg of caffeine"

Ankleboots replied: "chinese drink greentea its lovely good for you with lemon the coke has 20 tablespoons of suger in it sure shes good at giving health advice to you, that stuff cleans pennies like new so what does it do to your stomach!?"

Jeremy M replied: "It may do but most tea has a chemical which doesn't allow your body to absorb the caffeine."

Does flavored coffee have enough caffeine in it? I have to start getting up at 6 in the morning when skool starts and I feel horrible and tiered during the day. I hate energy drinks and the taste of reg coffee. Does flavored (vanilla, chocolate) coffee have the same amount of caffeine as regular coffee?

Ask And I Shall Answer !! replied: "Sure does........however, brewed tea has more caffeine in it than an equal amount of coffee."

buttercup_baby replied: "yup same amount... and if u wanna save money i can give a little recipe on how to make cold coffee or fraps for when its still hot out... just blend one half a cup of coffe half a cup of milk, three tbl spoons of sugar three tbl spoons or carmale or chocolate (your choice) and two cups of ice its great! :)"

Someone I know was wondering replied: "Yes sir! You can stay awake all night with flavor!"

Amanda replied: "Flavored coffee is made the same way as regular coffee with artificial flavorings added. So yes, same amount of caffeine or even higher. Coffee is unusual in that cheap, nasty robusta coffee has more caffeine than good arabica coffee, so it's conceivable that a company using cheap, nasty blends for flavored coffees and relying on the flavorings to compensate would produce flavored coffees with more caffeine than the normal version. To clarify the first person's answer, tea leaves, ounce for ounce, have much more caffeine than coffee beans. And if you brewed tea using 10 grams of ground-up leaves per cup and let it sit five minutes, you'd get more caffeine in your cup of tea too. However, if you brewed tea with standard coffee measures like that you'd get an undrinkable concoction; tea is meant to be brewed at 1/5 that strength, 2g leaves per cup, and so the actual amount of caffeine in the cup of tea you drink is less than a cup of coffee. (There is cosmic balance; it's easy to get 8-12 pleasant cups of tea out of an amount that would only make 1 cup of coffee, and those 8 cups would get you more buzzed if you drank them all at once.)"

How long does caffeine last in coffee? I made some coffee last night, but didn't have a chance to drink it I put it in the fridge and I want to drink it right now. Does it still have as much caffeine as it did in the beginning? Or does coffee lose its caffeine concentration ever?

crazyC replied: "caffeine never leaves the coffee"

AnnaMarie M replied: "it mite or it mite not"

cflhardcorekid replied: "CAFFEINE/COFFEE IS A DRUG IT HAS MADE MY MOM CRAZY!!!!!"

Erin replied: "The caffeine will stay in the coffee, unless you perform an organic extraction or you boil all the water out of the coffee and then you would have a caffeine powder and other residues. There are other ways to get rid of caffiene, but it won't just disappear."

sgrrush replied: "The caffeine content won't change. But the taste will.... Throw it out and make a fresh pot."

kat replied: "caffeine doesn't leave the coffee unless it is decaf! Then it is not there to begin with!"

annie replied: "it has the same"
